PCWASA receives clean 2011 audit opinion

March 14, 2011 by Dr. Chris Wood

The Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority (PCWASA) has received a clean audit opinion from Mauldin & Jenkins Certified Public Accountants. The firm’s David Irwin presented the independent auditor’s report to the Board of Directors and Management at the March meeting.

The task of the certified public accountants from Mauldin & Jenkins is to conduct an annual audit of the PCWASA using professional accounting principles generally accepted in the industry and in accordance with Government Auditing Standards.

It is the auditor’s opinion that the financial statements of the PCWASA, for the year ending in September of 2010, present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the Authority.

In addition, the independent auditor’s report included consideration of the Authority’s internal control over financial reporting and tests of its compliance with certain provisions of laws, regulations, contracts, and grant agreements.
